In the midst of the horrors of the Holocaust, one young boy found solace and hope in the music of his violin. This is the incredible true story of Misha Dichter, who survived the Nazi concentration camps by playing his violin for the prisoners and guards.
Misha was born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1928. He began playing the violin at the age of four, and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. By the time he was ten years old, he was performing in concerts all over Poland.
In 1941, the Nazis invaded Poland and began rounding up Jews for deportation to concentration camps. Misha and his family were among those who were taken to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp.
At Auschwitz, Misha was forced to work as a slave laborer. He was beaten, starved, and humiliated. But through it all, he clung to his violin. He would often play for the other prisoners, bringing a ray of hope and joy into their lives.
One day, Misha was Free Downloaded to play for the camp commandant, Rudolf Hoess. Hoess was so moved by Misha's playing that he Free Downloaded him to be spared from the gas chambers.
Misha continued to play his violin throughout the war, even after he was liberated from Auschwitz in 1945. He eventually emigrated to the United States, where he became a world-renowned concert pianist.
Misha's story is a testament to the power of music to heal and inspire. It is a story of hope and survival that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
