About the Author
John Kirby is a retired four-star admiral who served as the 30th Chief of Naval Operations from 2015 to 2019. He previously served as the Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and Commander of U.S. Sixth Fleet. Kirby is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the author of My Share of the Task: A Memoir of Service.
